Leadership

I recently came across an interesting speaker talking about apathy, specifically within politics, but very relevant to basic living within our community.

One point struck me as particularly important - “A heroic effort is a collective effort”.

In this election season, as in every other election season previous and yet to come, we are bombarded with messages saying, “Vote for us and we will help”.
But we don’t need politicians to change our lives for us; the problems are around us, they affect us and if we want to change them, we need to do the work ourselves.

All I know is acupuncture; I’m not a counsellor, a therapist, a nutritionist or anything else. So I have to use what I know in a way that can benefit the people around me. Our Saturday donation days are in full swing and our first partnership day with the Nanaimo Women’s Centre will be coming in May. Stay tuned for more details.
